VZ01 - Magical Venice

Discover the treasures of VENICE that are waiting to be found in the labyrinth of narrow alleyways, winding canals, hidden piazzas and marbled bridges on a walking and boat tour of the city.

Meet your guide at the Venice cruise terminal who will spend the morning with you exploring the landmarks of the city – visit St Mark’s square with its awe-inspiring Byzantine Basilica, the Doges Palace and its Prisons and the Bridge of Sighs.  The Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the 4 that cross the Grand Canal and was originally built of wood which was replaced in 1588 with the current stone structure.   There’s time to stop for some lunch before a boat tour in the afternoon.  Venice is best enjoyed from the water and once onboard you can sit back and savour the unique city as you glide past beautiful palaces from the 12^th through to the 17^th century, incredible architecture and beautiful bridges.  You will arrive at the island of Murano, famous for its glass making and see one of the best know furnaces where the process takes place.  There’s some time for shopping before the ride back to your ship.  If you wish we can also organise a gondola experience which will glide you through small canals.

VZ02 - Verona and The Valpolicella

Be romanced by the city of VERONA, setting for Shakespeare’s tale of star-crossed lovers, and relax in VALPOLICELLA vineyards with a glass of Amarone!

Your personal driver will collect you directly from your ship for the hour and a half journey into the heart of the city where he will be at your complete service throughout the day to show you all the prominent landmarks without too much walking.  You will visit Juliet’s house with its famous balcony, enjoy the splendid main piazza with its Roman arena built in 30BC (third largest arena in the world) that once rivalled the Colosseum in Rome and linger in the medieval herb market of Piazza delle erbe surrounded by beautiful buildings and boutique shops.  Before you leave the city behind you, take in the panoramic views from Castel San Pietro.  Travel to the Valpolicella vineyards (30 minute journey) for a wine-tasting lunch with its steep terraces that afford marvellous views over Verona.  If time allows before returning to your ship, stop off at a little village offering beautiful views across Lake Garda.

VZ03 - Design your own Venetian Adventure

Everyone has their own special reason for coming to Italy  – there are things you may want to see and do that are not mentioned in one of our pre-arranged tours.  Many of our clients are looking for relatives or visiting old friends, many are food and wine enthusiasts and are looking for a particular experience, some have always longed to be serenaded in a gondola, others are interested in exploring the islands of the Venetian lagoon such as MURANO renowned for its hand-blown glass.  Close by in PADUA discover the Scrovegni Chapel painted by Giotto or the delightful town of VINCENZA with its Palladium architecture and the memorable interior of the Teatro Olimpico, not forgetting BASSANO DEL GRAPPA and the Bridge of the Alpini.
